I built Legacy Architect RVA after seeing what happens when one person carries too much and doesn't write it down. The problem is we think we have time.
In 2007, I lost my best friend Dane in Iraq. In the middle of grief, his dad and I were left sorting through accounts, logistics, memorial details, and paperwork nobody thinks about until it's too late. We had love and support. We didn't have clarity.
Over the years, I kept seeing the same pattern. In insurance, in hospice, in hospital operations. Capable people left behind confusion, not because they didn't care, but because no one had helped them build the right kind of document.
Then it happened to my own family. My wife's mother passed during the pandemic, days after I'd had nerve damage surgery and couldn't work or lift a thing. While she grieved and kept working, we had to sort out arrangements, documents, accounts, and vital records, some of it here, some of it a country away... it was a rough time in our life. A few years later, we lost her father, and we did it all again.
That's when it stopped being about other people. If I weren't here, my wife would be left searching through my life for answers, and her family abroad would be lost without her. The thing I help people build is the thing my own family needed, twice, at the worst possible moment.
That's why I created the Life Manual. To help people turn chaos into clarity, so the people they trust aren't left guessing in the dark.
